ROCK N’ ROLL BAND: THE SHELBY LOVE BROTHERS

The New Carlisle Heritage of Flight Festival Committee is pleased to be able to introduce a group of local entertainers, (All but one are Tecumseh High School Graduates), called the
Shelby Love Brothers, an eight piece rock and roll band that organized in 2015.

The band came together when brothers Herb, Ben and Andy Hufford decided it was time they contributed something of their own to the music scene. As children they listened to the sounds of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, the band Van Morrison, the Beatles and countless other rock pioneers. Their audiences also helped to provide the songs that would help the brothers to learn how to play and perform music.

Initially, the project was just a way to learn their respective instruments and provide an excuse to get a little rowdy and rock out. After playing a few gigs, they discovered more musicians were interested in being a part of the energetic big family band. Army veteran and close family friend Brad McFadden joined as the mandolin player/multi-instrumentalist in the fall of 2015. He was followed by local soloist and guitarist Seth Gilliam in early 2016.

In the past year the band has played venues all over Ohio including local hot spots such as the 19th hole in Springfield, One-eyed Jacks, Beavercreek, Oscars Bar and Grill in Vandalia and several popular night spots in Dayton. The Love Brothers have also performed a benefit for our military at a Lacrosse tournament in Columbus, shared the stage with touring artist Ben Arnold from Philadelphia and a local band known as Krunk Town Boogie.
Besides playing the old rock and roll songs, Shelby Love Brothers more recently have been focusing on creating original music drawing influence anywhere from rock blues, folk, bluegrass and American roots music.

The band consist of Andy Hufford, piano, ukulele, Ben Hufford, harmonica, banjo, vocals, Herb Hufford, guitar, vocals, Brad McFadden, mandolin, banjo, guitar, vocals, Kyle Edington, bass, Zeb McNabb, guitar, vocals, Scott Rogers, percussion, and Seth Gilliam, guitar and vocals. The Shelby Love Brothers will be our featured Saturday evening attraction as they take center stage Saturday 1 October at 7:30 p.m.
