At the November 23, 2016 meeting of the Clark County Commissioners the commissioners approve payments of 1,474,444.38 to US Bank Trust of principle and interest for various Bonds owned by the county. These payments are for infrastructure improvements including utilities and human services improvements for the county

In addition, the commissioners approved the cost to employ f two full-time Environmental Deputies for the Clark County Solid Waste District at the cost of$120,000 from January 1.2017 throughDecember31, 2017.

For the County Engineer, the commissioners authorized a contract with The Detroit Salt Company for the 2016-2017 sale purchase program for the purchase of salt for $54.61 per ton. The cost of salt is down by approximately $15 per ton over last year’s prices.

In addition, the commissioners acknowledged bids for the Old Columbus Bridge from Brumbaugh Construction, Inc. BUDS, Inc. Double Z Construction, RB Jergens, Eagle Bridge, The Right Company, and John R Jurgensen. The estimated cost of the construction is $610,805. All of the bids were under this amount. However, Commissioner John Detrict said, “I encourage the county to buy locally.’

In addition, the commissioners extended the contract with Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc for the next year.

For the Department of Job and Family Services, the commissioners adopted a plan to provide limited English proficiency, Civil Rights and ADAAA services for patrons who use the program but who do not speak English.

For Planning and Zoning, the commissioners set the date of December 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. for a public hearing to hear a request for rezoning from Theresa Siejack of Moorefield Township to rezone 4690 Urbana Road PD-MP Planned District Mixed use to include a storage building, restaurant addition, enclosure of existing pavilion and allow for extended stay for a guest room loft.

The next meeting of the Clark County Commissioners is schedule d for November 30, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. in the commissioner’s conference room at 50 E Columbia Street.
